Desperate promises
won’t always be kept
so don’t give away what you
can’t stand to lose
People take on
impossible debts
when they’re really just
tryin’ to pay their dues

It’s not always as simple
as what’s wrong or right
when you think that you’re trying
to save some kind of life
So keep your sins
between you and the Lord
Forgiveness is something
He can best afford

Pray the people you’ve wronged
are far outnumbered
by the ones that you
have done right
Pray that knowing you’ve done
the best you can do
is enough
to let you sleep at night
