Contrary

A stray moonbeam
through the eye of the needle
unlocks the belfry and sets the bats free.
Passionate shadows swirl in the sky
their secrets to conceal.
The contrary Moon proclaims
that the Truth shall
finally be revealed.

But the eyes that see
and the ears that hear are
nowhere to be found,
so the secrets fall
unnoticed to the ground.
The bats return to the belfry,
the Moon goes behind a cloud,
and the naked Truth remains obscured
behind the funeral shroud
