Hurry Slowly

The hurry I’m in
doesn’t warrant risking
life or limb with daring
traffic maneuvers
or sweat-inducing exertions
My hurry has patience
and its only expectation
is that what I find upon
arriving is not likely
to be what’s expected,

so hurry slowly
that you may not miss
anything on your way
and know that one
resting place is as good
as another while preparing
for the next surprise.
