It’s a soft rain
but it’s still pretty wet
here we go again
tryin’ to forget
or is that an excuse
and we’re tryin’ to hold on
to a sweet sad blues
for something that is gone?
hurtin’ seems to be
the thing that we’re best at
we can go from up to down
in about ten seconds flat
but I think that it’s time to change
and get back to bein’ strange
to get on the side of the fence
where we laugh at things
that don’t make sense
where rain is what makes flowers grow
and don’t keep us from where
we want to go.
